Instead of allowing his opponent to setup the leg lasso when approaching the guard to pass, Braulio immediately grabs the cross pant grip and attacks with the longstep pass. When his opponent swings their leg around to prevent him from establishing side control, he drops his weight on it and transitions to the folding pass position. From there he shows how to pass to mount and side control.
