Braulio explains how important it is to maintain your sleeve grip even if your opponent manages to clear your knee with their arm while passing your spider guard on their knees. To complete the pass, they need to place their head on the side opposite the side they are passing to. If you use your leg to push their head to the other side, you will nullify their pass attempt. He also shows how you can take advantage of their efforts to pass in this scenario by setting up and attacking the reverse inverted triangle choke.
