When his opponent backsteps out of his koala guard and lands their hips heavy on the ground in his reverse half guard, Braulio likes to make a grip on the pants of the leg he has trapped and use his foot to hook their far leg and attack the sweep. If the opponent attacks the kimura at any stage throughout the setup or sweep, Braulio reassures us that there is no danger of being finished if we maintain our grip on the pants. Also, while attacking the kimura, our opponent will generally expose their backs which gives us an opportunity to transition.
